Click Here for DetailsThis program is the standard preparatory training for Emergency Telecommunicators who work at a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) dispatching Police, Fire and EMS units. This program will prepare students to perform basic radio handling, discuss the ethics and legalities involved in dispatching, and provide the student the opportunity to practice skills during simulated 911 calls. Certification is provided via National Emergency Communications Institute(NECI) and satisfies the prerequisite for students to attend Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) training. The BTC program discusses topics such as:
* Ethics and Legalities
* Communicator roles and responsibilities
* Overviews of Fire, Police, and EMS services
* Interpersonal communications
* FCC rules and regulations
* 911 call processing
