Precordial Thump
Good move Bob! If he converts, this will save you a couple of steps. You quickly strike the patient mid-sternum with your closed fist, hoping to break a sensitive post-arrest rhythm. A quick pulse check reveals you aren't that lucky... there is still no pulse.
Mortimer: "DID YOU JUST THUMP HIM?? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST THUMPED HIM! WHY IS IT THAT I'M ALWAYS DRIVING WHEN SOMEONE IS IN PULSELESS V-CRACK?"
Bob: "It's V-Tach Mortimer, and if it makes you feel better it didn't work."
(Mortimer always gets upset when he loses the opportunity to thump a patient - it's his favorite intervention)
Now what Bob?
