Sample Programs and their Cost


An important consideration of any AED program is the scope of the effort.  We generally group this type of project into Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Programs and Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) Programs.


Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Programs

This project is generally targeted to assisting a victim of sudden cardiac arrest.  When an individual collapses suddenly, they need to be quickly attended to with CPR and and AED.  This program consists of:

This program is easy to implement, and can generally be accomplished with minimal impact on a budget or schedule.  It will comply with local AED laws, and is a fine effort for the average workplace.

Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) Programs

This project is a more global program designed to prepare individuals to respond to more varied emergencies than just sudden cardiac arrest.  MERT participants are trained and equipped to attend to physical injuries, medical emergencies such as diabetes and seizures, and other forms of sudden health problems.  MERT represents the top-of-the-line emergency response system for corporations and general industry.  The program consists of:

This program is also very easy to implement, and represents only a modest additional expense from the above AED program.  It will comply with local AED laws, and with OSHA's standards on Bloodborne Pathogens (29 CFR 1910.1030) and Access to Medical Care (29 CFR 1910.151).  It is a much more professional effort for responding to workplace emergencies, a terrific team builder, and an exciting effort for your organization. to be involved in.
